the town of ledyard, connecticut seeks a planning & economic development director. the town operates under a council-mayor form of government and has separate planning and zoning commissions. the town has an approximate population of 15,000 people and is 40 square miles, mostly wooded hills populated by residential development with some wetlands, farmland and open space. the town is host to a regional water supply, the mashantucket pequot tribal nation, foxwoods resort casino, and the new london- groton submarine base.

the director works with and provides professional guidance and recommendations to the planning commission and economic development commission to implement the town�s plan of conservation and development and the management, grant management, geographic information systems, and development plan review.
